Title: Clinical Nurse Consultant – Aged Care (529733)

Position Type: Permanent, Full Time (up to 76 hours per fortnight) Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $118,297 – $125,543 per annum 12% Employer Superannuation contribution (in addition to salary) Salary in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023 Post Graduate Allowance up to 10% (based on qualification type) Remote & Rural Professional Development Allowance: $3,797 per annum 10% Remote Allowance

Salary Packaging Benefits:Up to $9,010 living expenses per FBT year $2,650 meal entertainment per FBT year Additional benefits if eligible

 

The Position

The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Aged Care is the clinical lead for Lyell House, the Residential Aged Care Facility at West Coast District Hospital.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and promoting best practice in aged care nursing and geriatric medicine 
  • Acting as Infection Control Lead for West Coast District Hospital
  •  Conducting comprehensive assessments and care planning with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  •  Providing expert clinical advice and support to staff Supporting quality improvement, risk management, and compliance activities
  •  Assisting the NUM and DON with documentation, reporting, policy development, and admissions 
  • Supporting staff education and professional development in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Educator 
  • Collaborating with the Activities Coordinator to oversee resident activities
