We’re looking for an experienced Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC) to take a leadership role in strengthening maternity safety and quality systems within a rural and remote health setting.

- $132,562 – $143,924 p.a. + super + rural incentives
The Position
In this role, you will:
- Provide expert leadership in clinical governance, safety, and quality improvement
- Ensure alignment of maternity care with endorsed standards, guidelines and best practices
- Manage and report on clinical data, incidents, and performance outcomes
- Support a positive safety culture and build capacity across midwifery teams
- Collaborate across disciplines to improve care delivery and patient experience
What we the role offers:
- Base salary: $132,562 – $143,924 p.a.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- Rural and remote retention bonuses: $3,500–$10,500
- Two return flights p.a. for you and your dependents
- 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
- Support for professional development, study leave and conference attendance
- Staff accommodation (if eligible) or rental subsidy of $82.50/week for 17 months

What we’re looking for
- AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife
- Relevant tertiary qualification in midwifery
- Postgraduate qualification (or enrolled) in a related field (desirable)
- Strong experience in clinical leadership and quality systems
- Confidence with data analysis, risk reporting, and continuous improvement
- Willingness to travel across regional locations as needed
- Valid C Class Driver’s Licence
- This is a VPD risk role. Compliance with vaccination requirements and pre-employment checks (including criminal history) will apply.
