• Position Title: Level 2 Midwife (Birthing, Maternity Assessment Unit, Antenatal & Gynaecology Unit, Postnatal Unit)

The Position

Under limited direction of the Clinical Midwifery Manager you will perform the level 2 Registered Midwife position. You will

• Demonstrate clinical leadership and expertise in a chosen area of maternity including antenatal, intrapartum, or postnatal care
• Co-ordinate and provide advanced midwifery care to women in antenatal, postnatal, and birthing settings in accordance with Policies and Procedures, National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral and relevant legislation.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team approach, including patient flow services, to facilitate timely, coordinated, and appropriate care of a high standard according to evidence based practice. This includes providing a supportive educational environment to enable women and their families to make informed choices about their care.
• In consultation with the Clinical Midwifery Manager, demonstrate responsibility for human and material resources to facilitate the delivery of a safe standard of care for all consumers
• Participate in the development and review of policy, procedures, quality activities and clinical meetings to build an environment of excellence in midwifery care

Essential Criteria

• Be currently registered with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
• The successful applicant will need to be available for rotational shift work roster which includes weekends, night duty and public holidays
• Must hold current drivers license
